If I use a darker color I don't think the pockets won't make my hips look bigger and it will be comfy. I'm not sure I'd use this yarn again. It is wonderful to work with and looks lovely but like many blends it is starting to pill and I've only worn it a few times to model. There is a KAL for this sweater at

Notes: I had some serious issues with the yarn. Even though the dyelot was the same between all three skeins the yarn was significantly different between all 3 skeins. The shoppe owner I purchased it from is following up with the company. I ended up dyeing it in the washing machine with Rit Dye. To keep the dye bath warm/hot I boiled water on the stove in pots and kept adding to the washer. I started on a med/low setting with about 3 times as much dye as recommended and kept it in the dye bath for almost 1.5 hours with as little agitation as possible. I also had turned our water heater up to the very highest setting in the morning.

Notes: I revised the directions to knit in the round. The last bootie I even did the sole in one piece to avoid more sewing. (Is that lazy or what) The booties were easy for me, but I think if I hadn't had the experience of turning a heel (in this case the turning shapes the instep) I may have had difficulty. The gauge was difficult as I used needles two sizes smaller. Email me if you'd like my notes on this project which includes revisions for knitting in the round and row counts.

Mom and Grandma Bracelets

I've seen these bracelets and just love them. I got the idea of making them for my sister and nieces. It was fun, was less expensive than purchasing them, but like doing anything new, a lot of trial and error. I'll make two more, one for me and one for another niece. I'm going to look for beads (necklaces) at garage sales. Just what I need another expensive hobby. LOL Some of the places I purchased supplies are:

Notes: I revised the shaping of the pattern a bit by making the length from the armhole down longer and shortening the armhole to shoulders. I did have to shape the neck with a greater slope to accommodate the changes. The pattern doesn't call for buttons. I did include small button holes and will probably add buttons. I also thought of a zipper but am not sure I'd like the result. Note, pic is before blocking but I think it will only need light blocking as I wouldn't hesitate to wear it as is.

Notes: I had to add length after the rows of Diamond Patches and could have used one extra row of diamonds. I like how cap sleeves look on other people, but not me so left this sleeveless. It has enough wool to be slightly itchy on bare skin so I could wear it as a vest.

Reading Glasses Chain
